LVP Leadership and Structure
The LVP Board of Directors oversees the organization by providing long term vision and guidance. The Board endeavors to ensure the continued existence of LVP for the benefit of the Lehigh Valley regional workforce.

The Leadership Committee, which is responsible for the day-to-day operation of LVP, consists of the Chair and Co-chairs of the LVP Committees
LVP has a unique challenge concerning effective leadership. As members, our goal is to find employment as soon as possible. For the group to sustain itself, LVP looks to its members to volunteer on a committee, as a committee Chair or Co-Chair, or for a Focus Group project. Your involvement on an LVP committee helps ensure continuity in the group’s activities and builds your skills during your career transition.
Membership Committee
This committee handles the new member process and introduces new members to others to foster networking, records and reports meeting attendance, answers questions about LVP, cleans up after meetings, assists the LVP Executive Chair with membership concerns and serves as liaison with PA CareerLink Lehigh Valley staff.
Alumni Committee
Under the Membership Committee, this committee connects alumni and working LVP members. Various activities are planned after the workday for current members and alumni to meet and network.
Program Committee
Members of the Program Committee are responsible for staying abreast of the latest developments in local, national and global job markets to identify and schedule speakers for the weekly member meetings. These presentations help members with job search skills and techniques. The program committee also sets up mock interview workshops twice a year.
Training Committee
Members of the Training Committee organize member workshops focused on job searching topics. These workshops are presented at the weekly meetings.
Marketing Committee
This committee markets LVP to Lehigh Valley employers. Members develop marketing materials and presentations, call on area employers, and handle media and public relations for LVP. The committee also is responsible for developing and distributing member communications.
IT/Web Committee
This committee is responsible for maintaining the LVP website and maintaining the membership Yahoo group email list and sending general membership emails.
Focus groups are small, self-directed groups of people (usually 5 to 10) that meet outside of the weekly LVP meeting to share and discuss job search activities. Focus groups are centered on industry clusters, career interests, or volunteer service projects.
The value of a focus group comes from the participants’ reaction and response to each other’s experiences and opinions. The group provides mutual support, encouragement, and accountability following an active project management approach. Focus groups provide you with new skills and opportunities to stay at the top of your game while helping others. Additional benefits include:

- Develop new and engaging talking points for any networking or interviewing situation
